Exchange and Returns

We want you to be happy with what you buy from us. If you change your mind, you have up to 30 days after you have received the item to return the item to us; no questions asked (customised order excepted).

However, your intention for an exchange or returns has to be reported to us first via email me@tallblackchair.com.au or phone call within 7 days after you have received the item. After which your intention has been acknowledged, simply return the item to us to the address below.

You will be responsible for all shipping charges for change of mind return. You will be given a refund minus 10% restocking fee.

Returned items have to be in its original condition as received. This means you have not used, assembled, damaged, washed or laundered any of the items. Please return items secured in their original packaging. Upon inspection, if the items returned are found to be used, assembled, or not in its ‘as new’ original packaging, we will apply a 20% handling and restocking fee instead.

Upon receiving your item, we will send you a notification email. Refunds will be credited to your credit card or PayPal (the same method of payment made for the order) within 3 – 5 working days.

You are advised to use a reliable method of postage. We are not responsible for loss or damaged item in transit. If the items returned are damaged in transit, we will not honour a refund.

TallBlackChair has the right to refuse an exchange or refund request if

  1. The intention to return for an exchange or refund were not initiated within 7 days after you have received the item.
  2. The item is not received within 30 days after you have received the item.
  3. The item received is damaged, used and/or without its original packaging.
  4. The item was returned without informing us first either by phone or email.

We do NOT offer a change of mind refund or exchange for all customised order under any circumstances.

Faulty or Wrong Item Received

At TallBlackChair, we do our best to make sure that our items are in perfect condition before despatching them. However, if you find that the items sent to you are wrong, faulty or damaged, please send us an email or give us a call before returning the faulty item. All items returned will be examined before a refund or exchange is made. We reserve the right to refuse a refund if the items returned were found not faulty or damaged as claimed.

If the item you received is packed wrongly – completely different from what you ordered, we will resend the item to your nominated address at no charge. For faulty or damaged item, we will either replace the item or send replacement parts. All wrong, faulty or damaged items must be reported within 7 days of receiving the item.

Damaged or Lost in Transit

All deliveries are insured against loss and damages. A redelivery or a refund can be arranged in the situation where the product is damaged or lost in transit. However, it is your responsibility to provide sufficient proof for the damage or loss as well as to work with the Australia Post or the assigned courier company to rectify the matter which includes filling out claim forms, providing details photographs and /or presenting the damage to the local Post Office when necessary.

This faulty and damaged item policy does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage arising from improper assembly or modification
  • Damage arising from abnormal use or abuse
  • Damage, wear and tear as a result of improper or lack of maintenance and/or care (e.g. fabric or timber)
  • Damage to external or product packaging only
  • Insignificant minor variations in dimensions, colour, grain or finish
  • Insignificant minor imperfections or superficial blemishes

Exchange

We do not offer exchanges. If you change your mind, simply return your items in accordance with our returns policy and place a new order.

Your Consumer Rights

The goods you purchase come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If your product is faulty, broken or otherwise non-compliant with a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law please contact us as soon as possible with your name and order number and our customer care team will look after you.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us and where we deem damage to a product to be due to fair wear and tear, misuse, failure to use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions or failure to take reasonable care.
